2025 Final of the Stanley Cup: Best Paris as a Panthers, the Oilers meet again

The Stanley 2025 Cup final offers revenge between the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers.

Last year, the Panthers retained the oilers in seven games. This time, Edmonton has an advantage of home ice and Oddsmakers installed the team fed by stars as favorites -listed at -128 in Fanduel and -120 in Draftkings -on the eve of match 1.

Florida has eliminated Tampa Bay’s Lightning in five games in the first round, followed by the elimination of Toronto Maple Leafs in seven games in the second round. The Panthers finished the Hurricanes of Caroline in five games in the final of the Eastern Conference.

The oilers overcome a deficit in the 2-0 series to stun the Kings of Los Angeles in six games in the first round. Edmonton needed five games in each of the last two laps to bounce the Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars.

Less than 35.5 total goals in series (-115 in Draftkings)

The Panthers and Oilers combined 41 goals in the Stanley Cup final last June. With the series in seven games, this represents on average 5.85 goals per competition. However, Edmonton scored 18 goals in his three victories and only five in four defeats.

After combining 51 goals in the first round against Los Angeles, the oilers combined 26 goals against Vegas and 33 in the conference final against Dallas.

In the two series which finished in five games in the playoff series, Florida and its opponents totaled 31 goals each.

The panthers played without advantage at home throughout this series of the playoffs and managed a third consecutive championship of the Eastern Conference.

Historically, the last time two teams arrived at the Stanley Cup final without home advantage in one of the first three laps, it was 2012. In this match, the Kings beat the Devils – although the New Jersey held the ice at home in the final.

It is a precedent, but Florida has a 4-2 file in its last six home games of the Stanley Cup, including clashes against the Golden Knights and the Oilers.

If the panthers can manage a split in Edmonton – where they won earlier this season – there is no reason to think that they cannot take care of business in southern Florida.

The Oilers have a 6-1 file in their last seven road competitions, but had trouble scoring in Florida in last year’s final. Edmonton only achieved two goals in three defeats on the road, while bursting five goals in the soleil victory alone.
