Harry Kane scored his second and third goals of the FIFA club World Cup to feed Bayern Munich in the quarter-final with a 4-2 victory against Flamengo in a second-round entertaining confrontation on Sunday in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Bayern also scored at the start and through Leon Goretzka just before half-time to seal a meeting with the UEFA Champions League winners, Paris Saint-Germain, who beat Inter Miami 4-0 earlier on Sunday.
During their most recent meeting, Bayern beat PSG 1-0 in Munich in the UCL League phase on November 26.
Gerson and Jorginho scored for Flamengo, who became the second of the four Brazilian teams eliminated after Botafogo lost in addition to time against the national palm rivals on Saturday.
After defeating Chelsea 3-1 in group D of group D, the Rio de Janeiro team was resilient after being late for two.
But the second in the 73rd minute of Kane finally sealed the passage of Bayern and the first defeat of Flamengo in 11 games all competitions.
Joshua Kimmich nourished Kane just above the penalty arc after a chopped flameng gift. The Englishman turned smooth, then pulled a low and right effort in the lower right corner for his 41st goal in all club competitions this season.
A penalty in the second half at the start of the second half brought Flamengo to the match.
Referee Michael Oliver immediately underlined the place after a Flamengo cross on the right struck the tense arm of Michael Olise.
Jorginho propelled a confident penalty to wake up the majority of the crowd supporting one of the most decorated clubs in Brazil.
Bayern started highly and was quickly 2-0 in front.
In the sixth minute, Kimmich’s right corner of the right failed the head of defender Erick Pulgar, who could not be high enough in traffic to clean the ball and accidentally redirected inside the distant post.
Three minutes later, the excellent challenge by Dayot Upamecano forced Giorgian de Arrascaeta in a turnover. Kane picked up the ball, fled briefly towards the goal and then unleashed a low shot of 22 yards which took a deviation on the way in the lower left corner.
Flamengo responded to the 33rd minute, Gerson reaching the layoff of Luiz Araujo and propelling a first volume after Manuel Neuer.
But Goretzka restored the advantage of two gooyen goals eight minutes later when he guided his finish beyond the box through the traffic in the lower left corner.
