The preamble had been up to the media threshing, with splashing exchanges in the preceding weeks and the flying extensions on the left and right. Oklahoma City Thunder is barely a week withdrawn from its Victory 7 Victory 7 against the Indiana Pacers, and the Periscope in the 2025-20126 season has already broken the surface.
As they bask in glory following a glove of playoffs, the rest of the league looks towards the future. Some teams come together, others reset. But two contenders – Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets – were expertise on the fly, with potentially important signatures still on the horizon.
Houston Rockets
The Rockets struck the soil running at the Libre Agency:
Signed Steven Adams to an agreement of $ 39 million over three years on June 15
Signed Fred Vanvleet to an extension of $ 50 million over two years on June 26
Signed Jabari Smith Jr. to an extension of $ 122 million over five years on June 30
And the first day of the free agency brought this same momentum for team consolidation:
Signed Dorian Finney-Smith has an agreement of $ 53 million over four years
Signed Clint Capela to an agreement of $ 21.5 million over three years
Kept Jae’Sean Tate on an agreement of one year and $ 3 million

The rockets are busy for the bear – a trailer superstar, a deeply balanced front area, central insurance, cunning veterans and young people who are still waiting for their turn.
Houston was a brick team consolidation marvel, showing the essential importance of hitting your recovery choices. After a long and winding route riddled with growth and rolling pain in the list, the rocket nucleus now covers each segment of the age curve.
They have planted their flag at the top of the Western Conference thanks to opportunistic professions and the optimization of rotation locations 10 to 15 since the start of reconstruction. Maintaining continuity with players like Green, Tate and Holiday is a significant component of their perspectives for 2025-2026.

Signed Bruce Brown Jr. to an agreement of one year (non -disclosed terms)
Exchanged Michael Porter Jr. and a choice of first round in 2032 at Brooklyn Nets against Cam Johnson
The importance of these transactions cannot be fully appreciated without first reversing at the disastrous offseason of 2024 Nuggets – the main catalyst behind the dismissal of Calvin Booth last April.
Denver had just been collapsed from match 7 on their floor at home against Minnesota in the second round. A loss that can be summed up by the fact that Justin Holiday – who has not touched hardwood from the NBA since – was the second player on the bench.
Despite flagrant needs and a tightening title window, the Nuggets were inactive. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope left. Russell Westbrook and Dario Šarić entered. It was the extent of their off -season activity. Meanwhile, value wings like Gary Trent Jr. and Taurean Prince signed elsewhere for minimum offers.
In the center of disorder was a trio of 2023 recruits: Julian Strawther, Jalen Pickett and Hunter Tyson. A pretended on the component by Booth, the front office has launched their second year jumps, cutting ties with proven bench talents in the process. They replaced the experience with a promise – no safety net, just hope.

Johnson is not as solid, but he is a better shooter of movement and more willing to attack the rebound – from the kills that could inject a new life at the Denver’s offensive at half -terrain.
This decision saves $ 40 million in nuggets, brings them below the luxury tax and generates a commercial exception of $ 16.8 million. Most importantly, it opens the exception of $ 14.1 million in intermediate level to pursue more free agents. Al Horford and Guerschon Yabusele have already been launched as potential targets.
And with the return of Bruce Brown Jr., it is clear that the nuggets are not only repair holes – they rebuild a bench which gives them an option for the programming and the flexibility of the eliminatory series which was sorely missing.
