Dallas cowboys donate $ 500,000 to the Salvation Army to help recover the floods that devastated Texas Hill Country, the team announced on Sunday.

The Houston Texans said on Saturday that they also gave the same amount.

Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, state officials had confirmed at least 59 deaths in Kerr County and recognized that there were 11 daughters disappeared from the Mystic camp along the Guadalupe river.

A wall of water swept the area after strong precipitation saw the Guadalupe river rise 26 feet in less than an hour early Friday morning.

“Our hearts are heavy while we are witnessing the devastation and the loss of lives caused by the floods in the county of Kerr and the Texas Hill Country, in particular for young girls and their families, as well as all those lost and their loved ones,” the cowboys said in a statement. “It was devastating to see and we keep everyone touched in our thoughts and prayers. Standing side by side with the critical response of the Salvation Army, we also give $ 500,000 to provide immediate resources for rescue, help and long -term recovery efforts.

Camp Mystic, in the community of Hunt in the county of Kerr, is a camp of Christian girls which opened its doors in 1926.
