Rajasthan Royals faced a shocking defeat against Delhi’s capital in their previous 2025 IPL match on Wednesday. It was the first IPL match since 2022, where the winner was decided in the Super Over. After the loss, RR was faced with serious criticism of cricket experts and fans for their bad strategy, which ultimately led to their loss. During the match against DC, RR also suffered a blow because their skipper Sanju Samson was forced to withdraw from the injury after being struck on his chest during the delivery of Vipraj Nigam.
RR will now face Lucknow Super Giants for his next match on Saturday, but Samson’s participation is still uncertain. Friday, at the pre-match press conference, the RR head coach Rahul Dravid said that the team was waiting for the Samson’s results, after which the decision concerning their participation will be taken.
“Sanju felt a little pain in the abdominal region. So we left for the analyzes. He did some scans today, so we are waiting for the results of these analyzes. And then once we have a little more clarity around the analyzes and the gravity of (the injury), we will make a decision in the future and we will see what will happen,” Before the match on Friday.
It is also very likely that Samson can play against LSG, but only as an impact submarine, which can bring Riyan Parag as a RR skipper. Parag led RR in the first three games of the season while Samson recovered from a finger injury.
Apart from that, Dravid also struck all the reports concerning any type of rift between the franchise and Samson. Dravid called all the “baseless” reports and argued that the team remained united in its pursuit of the playoffs.
“I don’t know where these reports come from. Sanju and I are on the same wavelength,” said Dravid.
“He makes a very full game of our team. He is involved in each decision and discussion. Sometimes, when you lose games and things are not doing well, you are confronted with criticism and we can take our performances, but we can do nothing on these foundations. The team’s spirit is really good, I am impressed by the way these guys work.
