Sai Sudharsan was among the first Indian strikers to participate in a lead session

India cricket team batter Sai Sudharsan was among the earliest to take part in a nets session ahead of the IND vs ENG 5th Test. The Tamil Nadu batter, who replaced Karun Nair at number 3 in the Manchester Test, managed to score his first Test half-century in the 1st innings before being dismissed for a golden duck in the 2nd. With the series poised currently at 2-1, Sudharsan decided to get a taste of what the pitch at The Oval could look like two days before the contest.

Sudharsan confirmed for IND vs ENG 5th Test?

As per RevSportz, Sudharsan was among the first batters in the Indian team to take part in a net session on Tuesday. He was seen batting alongside fellow Tamil Nadu teammate Narayan Jagadeesan, who has replaced Rishabh Pant in the squad for the IND vs ENG 5th Test. So far in this series, Sudharsan has only managed to score 91 runs in 4 innings, including 2 ducks.

Meanwhile, first visuals of the pitch at the Oval indicates that India could potentially be playing on a green-top pitch. However, we are still two days away from the IND vs ENG 5th Test and the curators could potentially change the surface. After all, the surfaces in England for the games that have taken place so far have offered least assistance for the bowlers.

Arshdeep resumes training

Meanwhile, India pacer Arshdeep Singh has reportedly resumed training after being ruled out of the IND vs ENG 4th Test. The southpaw suffered an injury to his hand while training before the Manchester Test that forced him to get stitches to his hand and hence be ruled out of the game. However, as per Times of India, Arshdeep has returned to training, fully fit, on Tuesday. The pacer eanred his maiden Test call-up for the ongoing series but is yet to break into India’s playing XI.

  1. Love this, Sai Sudharsan is looking sharp in nets, Arshdeep back with pace. This look promissing for the team, keep it up.

  2. Oh great, nets practise is the ultimate trophy now. Sai Sudharsan hits the nets, Arshdeep returns and suddenly the world is saved. Ironic that the real test is in the games, not the nets.

  3. Curious thought here: does nets hype translate into on field success, or is this only a practice highlight? I will watch for more data before decide.

  4. Not convinced, this nets practise dont prove every thing. Arshdeep returns? yeah, but we need real match form not just nets practise.

  5. Informative bit here: nets sessions often signal how players integrate into the squad ahead of tournaments. Sai Sudharsan hitting the nets show his timing, while Arshdeep’s return could mean pace options for the seam attack. Watching how they translate into the next practice matchs will tell more about the plan and selection. Hope they stay consistant.

  6. Comical scene: Sai Sudharsan hits the nets so hard the nets itself files for a rest. Arshdeep returns and the ball starts asking for a vacation too.

  7. Argument here: nets are great but coach should not over rely on practise yard outputs for selection. If Sai Sudharsan hits nets, that dont automatically mean he deserves a place ahead of more consistant batters. Arshdeep returns? fine, but he must sustain his form in actual games, not in practise nets. We needs to see them in the next matches before we jump to conclusions.

  8. Oh wonderful news, because hitting nets is exactly like conquering test cricket, right? Sarcasm aside, I hope they actually perform when the ball is live. But net sessions can’t overshadow real fixtures.
