New Delhi: The former Pakistan cricket player, Mohammad Hafez, expressed a deep sadness about the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu-et-Cachemire, by publishing on X (formerly Twitter): “Sad & Heart Broked #pad #pahalgamterroistack.”
His message, although in short, has resonated widely, emphasizing the immense human cost of such violence and the collective sorrow which he triggers through the borders.
The odious attack, described as one of the deadliest in the region since the bombing of Pulwama 2019, has cost the lives of at least 28 civilians and made more than 20 other injured. He shocked the nation and rekindled urgent calls to united efforts to eliminate terrorism.
Following the tragedy, the Indian army, Jammu-et-Cachemire police, and central security agencies launched an intensive man hunt to translate the perpetrators into court.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Minister of the Interior of the Union, Amit Shah, firmly condemned the attack. Shah, in particular, pronounced a powerful declaration affirming the unwavering determination of the nation against terrorism.
“Bharat will not look at terror. The culprits of this vile terrorist attack will not be spared,” said Shah after placing crowns on the victims’ bodies.

In another message, Shah added: “Each Indian feels the pain of those who lost their loved ones in the terrorist attack and … words cannot express this sadness.” He assured the nation: “These terrorists killing innocent people will not be spared.”
