New Delhi: former Indian cricket player Ravichandran Ashwin was conferred with Padma Shri by President Droupadi Murmu during a ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday. The BCCI shared an Ashwin video receiving the honor on its official X handful. The Padma Shri is the highest fourth civil prize in India, after the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan.
Recognized as one of the best spin of India, Ashwin received the prestigious honor for his exceptional contribution to the cricket.
Ashwin played a crucial role in the Indian triumphs of the ODI 2011 World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy.
In Test Cricket, Ashwin has 537 counters of 106 games, which makes him the second largest counter in India in format. He also scored 3,503 points, including six centuries, presenting his prowess as a versatile.
Through limited formats, Ashwin picked up 156 ODI counters and 72 T20IS counters.

He retired from international cricket last year after the boxing day of India’s boxing day against Australia at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Currently, Ashwin continues to appear in domestic cricket, representing Chennai Super Kings in the Premier League Indian 2025 season.
