Punjab Kings Captain Shreyas Iyer was sentenced to a fine of Rs 12 Lakh for having maintained a slow pace during their victory with four gates against Chennai Super Kings in Chepauk on Wednesday evening. It was a first infraction of overview of PBKS in IPL 2025, which also led them to position an additional field player inside the circle before the 19th.
Despite the restriction penalty in the field, Yuzvendra Chahal won four counters in the 19th, including his second IPL triple, limiting the CSK to 190 all in 19.2 Overs.

The CSK, first striking, was well placed at 177 for 5 after 18 oversupports, powered by the explosive of Sam Curran 88 on 47 balls. However, they lost their last five counters for only six points, with Shivam Dube and Mrs. Dhoni in the fold when the collapse started.
In the pbks, Captain Iyer led forward with a winning match of 72 balls out of 41, with five ovens and four six. He continues to be the biggest team record this season, followed closely by Prabhsimran Singh, who also contributed with half a century in this match.
The victory propelled the kings of the Punjab in second place on the point table. Chennai Super Kings, with only four ten matches, is now eliminated from affirmations of the playoffs.
Several other captains have been faced with similar excessive penalties this season, notably Rishabh Pant (LSG), Shubman Gill (GT), Axar Patel (DC), Sanju Samson (RR), Rajat Patidar (RCB), Riyan Parag (RR) and Hardik Pandya (Mi).
The Punjab Kings will return to action on May 4, hosting Lucknow super-managers in Dharamsala.
