IPL 2025: MI then recorded his sixth victory over the trot in the competition, after having lost four of the first five games.
If the RR VS Mi Thursday confrontation is something to do, the team led by Hhelik Pandya could very well be on the way to win the sixth IPL title. After all, the team won their sixth game on the trot this season – after beating the Rajasthan at their home by 100 points. And consequently, they have gone to the top of the table, exceeding the RCB, with 14 points for the moment.
Mi Register 6 Victories on Trot
What these six games have done for MI was not only that they brought the team back in the calculation of the IPL 2025 elimination series, but also instilled a belief alongside, that they can script a success like that of the 2015 IPL, where they were below and at that time. After the end of 5 games, Mumbai was in the lower half, having won only one match. But from there, they continued to beat – DC, SRH, CSK, SRH, LSG and now RR.
This also means that the team won 6 consecutive victories in IPL for the third time, with the first body in 2008, then in 2017. That said, this is not the record of IPL; KKR had won 10 in IPL 2014-15, but given the form of Mumbai, this possibility cannot be excluded. Meanwhile, returning to the match, despite the loss of the draw, Mi was in total control from the start of the match.
IPL Playoffs not far
Starting with Ryan Rickelton (61) and Rohit Sharma (53), the opening pair was unleashed against an RR team, which was without its best stimulator, Sandeep Sharma. The former MI skipper, Rohit then scored his third fifty consecutive, and also raised 6,000 points for the franchise.
After their departure, Hherik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav continued with the momentum and marked 48 on 23 bullets each, finally ending with 217/2. Come the Rajasthan’s striker, they never watched in the game. Last Centurion match against GT, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, was released for a duck, and from there, no striker could simply deliver.
At one point, the hosts were reduced to 47/5, and were finally grouped for 117. All the quisors of Mumbai cut with counters. Jasprit Bumrah was excellent with 2/15 figures in its 4 Overs. Karn Sharma was one step ahead and won 3/23. And this failure for RR meant, they officially left the playoff race for IPL 2025.
