The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) suspended the former stimulator of India Sreesanth for three years for having pretended to make false and derogatory statements against it as part of the controversy surrounding the Sanju Samson omission of the Indian team for the Champions Trophy. In a statement, the KCA said that the decision was made at its special meeting of the general body held in Kochi on April 30. Sreesanth is currently a co -owner of Kollam Aeries, a franchise team from the Kerala Cricket League.
Earlier, with regard to his controversial remarks, proof service provision notices had been issued to Sreesanth as well as to the Kollam Aeries franchise teams, at the head of the Alapppuzha team and the Alappuzha waves.
“Since the franchise teams have given satisfactory answers to the opinions, no other measure will be taken against them. However, the meeting decided to advise greater caution when the members was appointed to the management of the team,” the statement said.
The general organization has also decided to file a remuneration request against the father of Sanju Samson, Samson Vishwanath, and two others for having made without foundation allegations using the name of Sanju Samson, he added.
The KCA had published an opinion of justification in Sreesanth – which was part of the India team which won two world cup titles – for its remarks connecting the body of the state and Samson during a round table on a television channel in Malayalam.
In a press release, the KCA had specified that the opinion had not been issued to support Samson but for having made misleading and defamatory comments against the association.
During the television discussion, Sreesanth would have promised his support for Samson and would have promised to protect him as well as other Kerala players, all in charge of accusations against KCA.
His remarks came in the middle of the KCA criticism for abandoning Samson of the Kerala team for the Vijay Hazare trophy, who would have affected his chances of being selected for the team of the Champions of India.
