It’s finally here … The last match of the 2024 NFL season and the two teams that will fight for a Lombardi trophy are not as much a surprise. The defending champion of the Super Bowl Kansas City Chiefs obtains a revenge of Super Bowl LVII as they face the Eagles of Philadelphia. For the Eagles, they will try to avenge this previous loss of the Super Bowl which was a final score of 38-35 and the following season in 2023, Kansas City returned to the match for the title beating the 49ers of San Francisco also of only three points to win their second consequence.
The hottest subject before Super Bowl Sunday is whether the chiefs can become the first team in history to win three consecutive super bowls. A very difficult team of Eagles stands on their way. Believe it or not, these two teams have only met 11 times on the gridiron in history. The first meeting took place in 1972 and Philadelphia won a close match 21-20. Until the Super Bowl Super Bowl LVII, the Eagles and the Chiefs met 10 times more by dividing these matches between Philadelphia and Kansas City.
The chiefs lead the 6-5 series with all the games, except that the Super Bowl takes place in the direction of the regular season with a victory of the Eagles in the Super Bowl of this year which would bind the series of all time. After this defeat of the Super Bowl, Philadelphia obtained another blow on the chiefs in the regular season on November 20, 2023 and beat Kansas City 21-17. Several matches were not so close in the series, led by a 34-14 victory by the Eagles in 2009. In 2001, Philadelphia also won 23-10. In 2021, Kansas City set wood with Eagles winning 42-30. All other matches were decided by seven points or less, with the exception of a 26-16 victory by Kansas City in 2013.
As for this next Super Bowl, there was a point raised on the radio which made me look to promote Philadelphia. The analysis given said that the chiefs have Mahomes and Kelce. The Eagles have Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown, Devonta Smith and the best defense of the NFL this season. In addition, today I heard their offensive line on average a height of 6’6 ”and more than 300 pounds to a man. I do not think that the chiefs are prepared for this.
The Eagles offensive collected on average 28 points per game during the NFC championship match when they destroyed the commanders of Washington and the recruit Jayden Daniels 55-23. Philly’s defense produced only 15 points per game. It is a winning advantage of 13 points by the Eagles. Kansas City, on the other hand, only scored 20 points per game and abandoned on average 17, so their average victory margin was only about three points. The chiefs only lost two games, but so many people were so close, including the AFC title match that could have gone in both directions.
For me, the chiefs have played with fire all season and if you continue to play with fire, you will finally burn yourself. It is now the moment when I think. It seems that no one was able to stop Saquon Barkley, and some teams may have underestimated Jaylon. This and Eagles have coordinators that are excellent, just like Kanas City, but I believe that power wins over finesse and this will be the determining factor on Sunday of the Super Bowl.
How to see this game take place? In my opinion, the Eagles will have to jump to an early advance, perhaps a two score advantage to have a chance in this game, then hope that their defense can be dominant. If the match remains close until the end of the fourth quarter, then Philadelphia risks the chance that Patrick Mahomes is working on his magic and winning a last -minute victory.
I believe that the Eagles have more talent at all levels and with their enormous offensive line and dangerous weapons in attack, which will make the difference in the game and the story will have to wait for a team to make a three peat.
Prediction: Eagles 30 / Chiefs 20
