11. 1965 dishes, 50-112, 309

This is not the first time that the dishes have appeared on our list or the first time they were in the running for the worst MLB recording of all time. The franchise was really a disaster during the first years of its existence.

Of course, it is important to keep in mind that only four years after losing 112 games, the dishes won a world series, so they were able to change things quickly. In fact, the 1965 team had a few players who were part of the 1969 team who won a championship, including Cleon Jones, Ron Swoboda, Bud Harrelson and Ed Kranepool.

There were also notable launchers like Tug McGraw and Warren Spahn on the list. The dishes even signed Yogi Berra before the 1965 season. But the notable players of the 1965 dishes were either too young, or too old to make a big difference, which led to 112 defeats and only 50 victories.

10. 2019 Tigers, 47-114

Sorry, Detroit, but it will not be the last time that the tigers are on our list, although it is the most recent of the truly horrible teams in the history of the big league.

Ironically, the Tigers began the year with seven victories in their first 10 games. But everything was down from there, because Detroit was 5-20 in June and July. Apart from Miguel Cabrera, it is difficult to name anyone on the list, anyone outside Detroit would recognize, because things became ugly for tigers, who had eight sequences of defeats at least five or more games.

9. 2018 Orioles, 47-115

Even for a reconstruction team, it was the bottom of the rocks for the Orioles. Some players with big contracts like Chris Davis have largely sub-performed.

In addition, things were almost finished for Baltimore after Manny Machado, Kevin Gausman, Jonathan Schoop, Zack Britton and others were exchanged on the deadline.

6. 1904 Senators, 38-113

During their fourth season of existence, the senators had a stinking of a season.

Apart from the victory of 10 of his 22 games against Saint-Louis, the senators were overthrown by all the other teams of the American League. They had three starters to lose more than 20 games, Casey Patten being the only one to win more than six games.

In the end, the senators finished 55.5 games in first place, more than 20 games from the next closest team. Things would only improve marginally in the years to come, because the senators won a championship until 1924, two decades after this disastrous campaign.

5. 1962 dishes, 40-120

As mentioned, the dishes appear on this list more than once. During their inaugural season, the dishes experienced one of the worst imaginable seasons.

As an expansion team, they had to count on players in the expansion recovery, many of whom could not cut it in the big leagues. Even with a proven manager like Casey Stengel opening the way, there were not many dishes.

They were comically bad from start to finish, showing no sign of improvement during the season and little progress in the years to come. At the end of the season, they had 60.5 games from first place in the National League classification. It would take more than 50 years until another team ends a season at more than 60 games from first place, showing how the 1962 dishes were behind everyone.

4. 1935 Braves, 38-115

The Boston brave from 1935 are memorable not only for their 115 defeats, but because it was the last season of Babe Ruth. After years with the Yankees, Ruth signed with the Braves and returned to Boston before the 1935 season.

The problem is that he had not left much in the tank, hitting. 181 with six circuits in 28 games before retiring officially on June 1. Apart from the Wally Berger Voltigener, the rest of the team was not much better. 3. 1916 Athletics, 36-117

2. 1890 Alleghenys, 23-113

This would become the last Alleghenys season before changing their names in pirates. What can you do else after winning only 23 games in a 136 game season?

The bad record is due to the fact that several of the team’s best players left to play for the Burghers of Pittsburgh in the League of Short -Disable Players. With poor attendance, 97 of these 136 games were played on the road with the Alleghenys from 9 to 88 on the road, which gives them the worst percentage of victory on the road to the history of the MLB. At the time, the 23 victories were a record, but only to the team at the top of our list.

1. 1899 spiders, 20-134

It was the Cleveland spiders of 1899 who have the honor of having the worst MLB record of all time. What is crazy is that they didn’t even need 162 games to get there. Their season lasted only 154 games, but they breathe all the other losing teams in the history of baseball during total defeats.

The problem with the spiders this year is that the Robinson family, owner of the club, also bought the Saint-Louis Perfectos before the 1899 season. Anyway, spiders devoid of their best players from the previous year, they only managed to win 20 games.
