Several reports making rounds suggest that the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) has decided to dismiss the deputy coach Abhishek Nayar, but the secretary seems to collect details and will only have a clear image in the next “1-2 days”. When contacted by Timesofindia.com with the specific request on Nayar, Devajit Saikia said he will have a “clear image” in the coming days.
“I will give you a clear image and details in the next 1-2 days,” was the answer to a Saikia line.
Nayar was appointed assistant coach of the team under head coach Gautam Gambir barely eight months ago, but reports suggest that his mandate has ended abrupt.

The Board Indian Cricket has strengthened coaches when Sitanshu Kotak was rolled as a stick coach earlier this year, but Nayar continued to be with the team, and both were part of the locker room during the Champions Trophy campaign in Dubai.
The next assignment of the Indian team is the five test series against England in June.
The series will be preceded by three games from India, the last match being an intra-squad affair.
