Sri Lanka has announced a team of 17 members for the next Tri-Nation series against India and South Africa, which will be held at home. The team, led by Chamari Athapaththhu, saw changes from the team that played against New Zealand, including the introduction of Spinner Malki Madara, who obtained his first call to the ODI team. Speaking of India and South Africa, the two teams have already finalized their teams for the series.

Key changes and inclusions

Eight modifications were made to the team, bringing new faces and the return players in the mixture. The notable inclusions are Vishmi Gunaratne, Nilakshi Silva, Hasini Perera, Pimimi Wathsala, Dewmi Vihanga, Inoka Ranawera and Hansima Karunaratne. Malki Madara, who impressed during the T20I series in New Zealand, is one of the exciting prospects, after delivering solid Bowling performances.

The series, which is expected to start on April 27 in Colombo, serves as a vital preparatory event for the CPI 2025 Women’s World Cup in India.
