The word “dynasty” floated freely while the Florida panthers are preparing for their third consecutive appearance in the Stanley Cup final, the public supported Edmonton’s Oilers to avoid a rehearsal of last year’s finals.
The teams have ratings of -110 equal to Draftkings to win the series which begins Wednesday in Edmonton, the oilers pulling 65% of the total of the first bets and 78% of the money bet on the champion.
The action was more divided to Betmgm, where the oilers opened its doors as a favorite -125. Their ratings have still shortened to -130, which led the Panthers to be supported by 53% of betting and 57% of money in the book.
The total game market has been stable at six years, with 98% of money supporting the end, which would mean another dramatic series of seven games.
Edmonton eliminated Dallas in match 5 of the Western Conference final on Thursday, setting up a rehearsal from the Stanley Cup last year’s Stanley, Florida in seven games. This is also the first game repeated in the final since Detroit and Pittsburgh met in 2008 and 2009.
Oilers are consensus favorites of 1.0 scorer (+153) almost a week before match 1. The line is 1.5 goals to Draftkings (+190), Caesars (+180) and Betmgm (+192), which reported 66% of money also supporting the game -120 of the game 120 from Edmonton.
“It’s a very good team and we are also a very good team,” said Oilers Leon Draisaitl striker about the panthers. “It’s good to make a chance to take revenge, but we are in a long way. We will appreciate this and we prepare.”
During the Stanley Cup final last year, Edmonton lost the first three games but pushed it to the limit before removing the decisive match 2-1.
Now, the Oilers have the opportunity not only to win the Stanley Cup, but to claim the crown against the club which broke their hearts.
“I think we are better to spend last year,” said Connor McDavid, star of the Oilers. “It is an excellent learning experience and really motivated us all year round. This race was very different from last year. This is very normal. …
“Games can be exhausted emotionally, but we are not drained. We have as good luck as they do.”
