3 of the six originals kept their captains. As expected, the new teams will have new captains.

The Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 season will commence on August 2 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The first edition of the tournament organised by the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) was a success. The league helped Priyansh Arya get into the limelight. Then, the opener became an overnight star after tearing it apart in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Punjab Kings.

The DDCA will want to grant a few more superstars to the world through DPL 2025. A few changes have come about before the league’s second edition. For starters, two new teams have been added. There have been reshuffles, and an auction took place on July 7 in Delhi. The squads are changed, and even the captains.

Captaincy changes

Rishabh Pant won’t be leading the Purani Dilli 6, like he did in the inaugural match of DPL, as a foot injury has ruled him out of the tournament. Priyansh won’t be leading a team either, as someone else has been picked over him. Harshit Rana has replaced Vaibhav Kandpal as the captain of the North Delhi Strikers.

Nitish Rana, who left Delhi for Uttar Pradesh in 2023, has returned. He will replace Hrithik Shokeen as the captain of the West Delhi Lions. Himmat Singh has been named captain of the New Delhi Tigers, so Anuj Rawat will lead the East Delhi Riders. Lalit Yadav was Purani Dilli 6 captain last year, apart from one match where Pant led, and he’ll continue.

List of DPL 2025 captains

North Delhi Strikers – Harshit Rana

West Delhi Lions – Nitish Rana

East Delhi Riders – Anuj Rawat

Outer Delhi Warriors – Siddhant Sharma

New Delhi Tigers – Himmat Singh

Purani Dilli 6 – Lalit Yadav

Central Delhi Kings – Jonty Sidhu

  1. Bro this is amazing info! Finally someone put together all the captains list properly. Been searching for this everywhere man. Really helpful post thank u so much for sharing this with us!!!

  2. Oh wow, captains of Premier League teams in Delhi! Next you’ll tell me Manchester United is playing in Connaught Place stadium. 😂

  3. Imagine all 8 captains walking into a restaurant together and the waiter asks ‘table for how many?’ and they all start arguing about who should answer first because they all captains HAHAHAHA nobody would order food for 3 hours 😂😂😂

  4. Yeah sure, and I’m the coach of Barcelona. Premier League in Delhi, classic! What’s next, IPL final in Antarctica? 🤣

  5. Just to clarify for those who are confused – this is probably refering to the Delhi Premier League which is a local T20 cricket tournament. The 8 teams includes clubs like South Delhi Superstarz, North Delhi Strikers etc. Each team have their own captain who leads them in matches. The tournament usually happens during summer season.

  6. I completely disagree with whoever made this list. How can you not mention that 3 of these captains are totally inexperienced?? They barely played 2 seasons and now they leading whole teams? This is whats wrong with cricket nowdays. Experience matters more than anything else but nobody cares anymore.

  7. What nonsense is this?? Delhi dont even have Premier League teams lol. Maybe you confusing with some local league or something? This post is completly wrong and misleading peoples. Do proper research before posting such things.
