Two trends teams in opposite directions meet on Saturday when the Washington Nationals continue a series of three games against Diamond decreases from Arizona to Phoenix.

Washington won three consecutive and nine games of his last 12 after a 9-7 victory in the opening of the series. James Wood struck a solo circuit and Josh Bell added a three -point shot while the Nationals scored nine points for the third consecutive match.

“We talked about it in the spring: we know that we can be an offensive threat,” said Bell. “And for the moment, it seems that it is a different person every night … apart from Woody. It seems that it is every night for him. It’s really fun to be part of it.”

Wood has deepened four of his last six games and leads the Nationals with 16 circuits.

Washington also receives a spark of Bell, which seems to leave its collapse of a season in the past. The veteran Slugger has won matches in three consecutive games and is 7 for 14 (0,500) on this section.

“It feels like the game slows down a bit,” said Bell. “I swing on better grounds. And the errors that I should strike, I hit and I hit well.

While the nationals are booming, Arizona has lost eight of its last nine games, three of which are in a row. The D-Backs abandoned the opening of the series despite the overwhelmed of the Nationals, 12-11.

“These are very difficult moments, will not lie,” said Arizona manager Torey Lovullo. “We are in a huge version, each of us. We are doing a great job to prepare to go out and compete, then frustration occurs when we do not miss a very critical moment of the game. This is what we must clean.”

Lovullo rocked her programming before Friday’s match by changing Geraldo Perdomo of the ninth in the order of the third -party strikers. Perdomo hits. 289 After going 1 for 5 on Friday.

“I had the impression that he was one of our best strikers and he deserves to get this additional heap,” said Lovullo. “A player who strikes the third gets more bats than a player who strikes ninth.”

Saturday’s match presents a pair of right-handers while Michael Soroka de Washington (1-3, 5.61 ERA) faces Brandon Pfaadt from Arizona (7-3, 3.90).

Soroka, 27, granted three points in six rounds with a 3-2 defeat against the Giants of San Francisco last Sunday.
