Oh yes, because playing ‘Gambir style’ has worked SO well for us in overseas conditions. I’m sure England bowlers are absolutely terrified of our aggressive approach that got us all out for 150 twice already. Brilliant strategy! Maybe we should also try playing with our eyes closed, might improve our chances.
Are you seriously suggesting Gambhir approach?? Have you even watched the previous matches? Every time we tried aggressive batting we collapsed like house of cards! What we need is patience and building partnerships not some bollywood style hitting. This kind of thinking is exactly whats wrong with modern cricket fans.

Looking at the statistics from previous 4 tests, India’s strike rate when playing aggressive in first session was 3.2 compared to 2.1 when defensive. However success rate was only marginaly better at 34% vs 31%. The pitch condition and weather will be more deciding factor than batting aproach in my opinion. Also England’s Anderson has taken 18 wickets this series with average of 24.3.
This is completely wrong analysis. You clearly dont understand test cricket at all. Conservative approach has won us matches for decades and suddenly everyone wants to throw it away? Gambhir style will only get us bowled out for under 200. Mark my word.

On serious note though, middle path is best – attack when ball is bad, defend when ball is good. Not rocket science yaar.

This debate reminds me of asking should we die by drowning or by fire lol 😅 But jokes aside, team needs confidence more than tactics. When players are scare to play their natural game because of pressure, no strategy will work properly. Give them freedom and backing.
Everyone here arguing about gambhir or conservative but nobody talking about bowling! Our bowling is main problem not batting approach. We cant take 20 wickets if we cant bowl them out twice simple as that. Also top order needs to fire regardless of what style they play, cant always depend on middle order rescue acts.
