While the Giants of San Francisco and Miami Marlins open a series of three games in Florida, a team struggling with the attack will encounter another having problems with their gloves.
The Giants Le Gaucher Kyle Harrison (0-1, 3.86 ERA) and the right-hander of the Marlins Cal as much as possible (3-4, 6.09 ERA) are the starters announced in the hope of more support than their teammates have provided during recent outings.
Making his first start to the season, Harrison did not get any attacking support in a 3-0 defeat in Washington on Saturday. The 23 -year -old limited two -point nationals in four rounds, but to no avail.
The third-year biggarter only made one previous departure against the Marlins and left a winner of 4-3 last April, going six heats.
The Giants have not scored more than four points in a match since a 9-1 home victory against athletics on May 16. They were kept for a total of five points in three consecutive defeats in Detroit earlier this week.
Winner of seven games as part of the GIANTS regular rotation last season, Harrison admitted after his last departure that recovering this work following a demotion of minor leagues and four rescue outings earlier this season has excited him to go out and do it again on Friday in Miami.
“It was good to have a day dedicated to me,” he said. “I went to my activities. It is good to end up in a routine.”
The giants lost four of the six during their trip and now face the Marlins, who have held up while going 3-3 on the road against the Los Angeles Angels and San Diego Padres in last week.
The return flight became much smoother after Wednesday 10-8 victory on the Padres-a day after the second recruited goal Ronny Simon made three mistakes while the Marlins saw an advance of 6-0 turn into a defeat of 8-6.
The victory was emotional for the Marlins, who on Tuesday evening left the stadium of the game sorry for Simon. The recruit poured tears before receiving words of encouragement from the two clubs, including the players of Padres Luis Arraez, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado.
Simon did not play in Wednesday’s match but should be back in the programming at some point in the Giants series. The start of Tuesday was the eighth of the season for the 25 -year -old, who has so far reached 0.234 without Home Run.
“Many people told me that it was going to happen in the big leagues.” Keep your head high. No matter what has happened in the past. Tomorrow is another day “” said Simon. “The only thing I say: thank you for everyone.”
The Marlins made at least one mistake in their three games in San Diego.
As a hopes to cap one of the best months of his career against the giants. The Marlins won three of his four departures in May, the 30 -year -old giving only one point in each victories, although he was withdrawn after only 3 1/3 rounds against the angels on Saturday.
For the month, he launched an MPM of 3.06, which dropped his era of the season more than two complete points, from 8.10 to 6.09.
The former Stanford star disappeared 3-0 with an MPM of 3.06 in six career starts against the Giants.
