The term “gedi” is a key term of “chakkar” (round / travel). In March earlier this year, when Punjab Kings called their players to meet at Mullanpur stadiumAnmolpreet Singh decided to drop his younger brother Prabhsimran Singh at the camp. While putting the Prabhsimran kit in his SUV, he said nonchalantly: “Chal Main held Mullanpur Chhad Aau (Let me drop to the Mullanpur stadium).” The distance between the new Patiala and Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium is 80 km. During this two -hour journey, Anmolpreet gave Prabhsimran A “verification of reality”.
“I gave him my example. The chances that I was wasted and how I fell into hierarchical order. I reminded him that he was 24 years old now, and it will be his season of make -up or breakup,” said Anmolpreet, 27, in Timesofindia.com of Patiala.

Most of the “gedis” in Punjab are known for their Pepy figures which raised the sound systems after the market, but all the Prabhsimran heard during this road to Mullanpur was words of wisdom of his brother.
“I told him to score two hundred this season, and everything will be taken care of. I specifically said to him that if he wanted to play for India, he should mark at least two centuries this season to get noticed,” recalls Anmolpreet.
“The conversation was a little hard. I cannot tell you the Punjabi words I used, but it was more in the sense of making the most of departures. The 1920s and 30s will take it anywhere,” he added.
Cut in the present and Prabhsimran struck with a very mature head and marked for the first time consecutive half-centurys of his IPL career. After a 30 -year series, the right -handed right -hander struggled but then scored one of his best blows against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Gardens of Eden.
He had 34 out of 32 balls at some point, but turned his sleeves while the next 49 points came from 17 bullets, and 22 on those who came to a single Sunil Narine. He followed with another good blow to Chepauk against Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday.
“His strike was never the problem. It was his cameos. He needed to play more bullets, and even if he beats slowly at the start, he has the capacity to triple the score rate later. We saw this during the KKR match. He had to put a price on his counter and play long sleeves,” said Anmolpreet.
While Prabhsimran has not yet struck a century this season, the young person has marked three fifty totals, and for the first time in six years with the holding of Punjab, he found consistency. The swashbuckling opener raised 346 points in 10 games with a typing rate of 165.55.
The bettor effect
During the IPL 2020, Sachin Tendulkar had published a video on X, earlier Twitter, praising the stick of Prabhsimran Singh. “Prabhsimran is to be watched. Its backlift and its bat swing are fluid.
His striker not only impressed Sachin, but also the current Kings coach, Ricky Ponting, who also wanted to bring him to Delhi’s capital.
Ponting has drawn a plan for Prabhsimran where the young person was specifically invited to build an approach against quieurs and to opt for match simulations in open networks instead of regular sessions.
“I understood where Ricky came from. Earlier, he used to blindly Hoick, whatever the launcher was. If you see his sleeves this season, he has a plan against all the quieurs. He smoked Sunil Narine for 22 points. He now knows what attacking attack. Call him from awareness of play or maturity.
For open net sessions, Prabhsimran went to the Patiala Hub Academy Cricket with his older brother and the duo formed for hours under the vigilant eyes of Kamal Sandhu.
“The emphasis was more on match simulation. It has always been good against the Pacers; Ricky’s council was to improve his striker against the spinners,” said Kamal.
“He can tear a world class launcher, but, at the same time, can go out in ratings of ramblings,” he added.

Do you think Prabhsimran Singh will mark a century this season?
The brothers trained for three hours in the afternoon. Most of the time, they were accompanied by Sardar Satvinder Singh, father of Anmolpreet and Uncle in Prabhsimran.
Satvinder Singh, a former captain of the Indian handball team, formed two of his sons – Anmolpreet and Tejpreet – and Prabhsimran, son of his young brother, in the past two decades.
“My father is our coach and he is still invested in the three of us,” said Anmolpreet.
The older brother also shares an interesting story about how Prabhsimran approached Ponting before the season and asked him to let him put on the gloves.
“He likes to stay. Last season, he had a lot of cradle because he had to move in the outside field. He is a natural guardian, and he did it in a coherent way this season, and that has strengthened his confidence with the bat,” said Anmolpreet.
After 10 games, the Punjab Kings is currently placed second on the point table. They continue a place in playoffs for the first time in 10 years, and Prabhsimran continues the target that the brother had set during the “Gedi”.
