However, the celebrations were short -lived because he was informed of a medical emergency in his family shortly after the game of the day.Speaking during the launch of the third episode of the documentary series of Chennai Super Kings players, Ashwin recalled the time of confusion and concern.

“I had taken 500 counters at that time in the tests. But I did not receive a call from my mother, my father or my wife. I thought I would finish all the press conferences … I answered messages, but there was no call or message from my family,” said Ashwin.“I was very surprised. Or maybe I thought they allowed me to take my space. I tried to call too and there was no answer.”

The conference revealed that his wife had finally contacted him at the hotel and informed him of the situation. Ashwin was ready to leave immediately but faced logistical obstacles.“There was no flight immediately, and I was in Rajkot. The match was in balance. Ben Duckett had marked a fantastic century. But Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid immediately asked me to go,” he said.“When the captain and the coach are so favorable, I felt like I wanted to come back.
