Chennai: Kamindu Mendis has many admirers Sri Lankan Cricket. He holds the record to be the first player to reach more than 50 scores in each of his first eight test games. At this stage, he had an average of 91.27, which was the second behind Donald Bradman.
This record, however, has not exactly prepared the field on fire when the IPL auctions came, the 26 -year -old player acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad For Rs 75 Lakh. And it was not necessarily only his striker on which SRH nicknamed. It was the ability to turn both hands with both hands.

On Friday at the Ma Chidambaram stadium, all Kamindu’s skills were exhibited while SRH managed to keep their hopes of qualification alive. But what attracted the attention of the world first was not his bowling alley or his striker – it was an amazing capture that he withdrew to reject a dangerous Dewald Brevis for a long time.
Kamindu, reacting to a fierce shot, moved 11.09 meters to his left and threw himself into the air to finish the stunner, probably the best of the IPL so far. The catch took the wind of CSK sails. Ian Bishop, in the communication box, could not really understand what was the strongest side of Kamindu, right or left.
The SRH coach Daniel Vettori said it was a catch that even a brilliant defensive player takes “only one or twice in his career”.
“It’s just the instinct, an innate ability to be able to move. To see the ball and the time of your dive, it was great,” said the coach. While the capture was the moment of the day, the first two letters that Kamindu have stunned – a mixture of rotation of the finger of the left arm and break on the right – made only six points and trained the counter of Ravira Jadeja.
He was dismantled for 20 points by Brevis in his third, but the Lankans returned to take the magnificent caught the next one.

What impressed you the most in Kamindu Mendis’s performances in the IPL match?

Vettori, himself a fabulous spinner on the left weapon in his days of play, was really happy to see Kamindu reject Jadeja with his rupture. “I did not really appreciate the quality of his bowling alley with both arms, and his ability to go back and control his rhythm. Even the way he changes his rhythm is a real competence,” said Vettori.
Kamindu’s work was not yet finished. During the pursuit of SRH, it was called for action at 90/4, with 65 others to obtain. The 26 -year -old Lankais showed his maturity and his ability to play rotation – using scanning and reverse sweep against Noor Ahmad and Ravira Jadeja – to stifle CSK’s last hopes. His 32 steps on 22 balls did the job well.
