New Delhi: a versatile show of Punjab Kings ended the hopes of the Chennai Super Kings qualifiers with a clinical victory at four titles at My chidambaram stadium Wednesday. With defeat, CSK has become the first team to be officially eliminated from the 2025 IPL eliminatory race.
The victory propelled the kings of Punjab to second place in the ranking with 13 points of 10 matches, to a point behind toppers of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (14 of 10). Meanwhile, CSK, which has undergone their fifth consecutive losses at home for the first time in the history of IPL, remains anchored below with only four points of 10 games.

After being sent to Bat, CSK was ready for a large total thanks to a Boungeflage 88 on 47 balls of Sam Curran – its highest score in IPL. Curran sewn a 78 -point stand with Dewald Brevis (32) for the fourth counter, preparing the land for late development. However, the Punjab veteran, Yuzvendra Chahal, turned the match on his head with an astonishing 19th where he picked up four counters, including a hat -trick. The hosts collapsed from 177/5 to 190 all in 19.2 Overs.

In response, the Punjab took a good start with Prabhsimran Singh marking a little 54 balls on 36 balls and adding 44 for the opening stand with Priyansh Arya (23).
