JP Sears launched 5 2/3 strong innings for his first victory against his former team and visiting athletics won a 7-0 victory against New York Yankees on Saturday.
Brent Rooker struck a solo circuit and the recruit Nick Kurtz struck a three-point circuit off Clarke Schmidt from New York (4-4) while the Yankees beat them for the third time only in their last 14 trips to New York.
Sears (6-7) authorized a single to Cody Bellinger during the first round and a base at Paul Goldschmidt to open the sixth. Sears withdrew three, walked three and obtained eight withdrawals on fly balls.
