It was a special blow from Karun Nair while the striker of the ignored Indian cricket team criticized his first half-century IPL after seven years. Karun looked in a formidable form when he scored 89 out of only 40 deliveries, but his effort was not enough because the capitals of Delhi underwent their first defeat of this season against the Mumbai Indians. After the match, Karun’s wife – Sanaya Tankariwala Nair – went to social networks to publish photos back at the time when he was part of the Delhi franchise in 2017. She also shared a photo of Karun with her and their two daughters after the end of the Sunday match.
Speaking of his approach in the game, the right -handed striker said: “We lost an important player in FAF (from the Plessis). We have always known that there were few of us who were sitting outside and had to be ready at some point. Mentally, I was ready and obviously the chance to capitalize on this opportunity.”
“I felt like I was well prepared to play in the IPL if the opportunity had the opportunity. Everything was so that I prepare the way I was throughout the season and while waiting for my luck. I was doing my part to prepare and be ready for the game,” he added.
When he was asked about his strike against Jasprit Bumrah, Nair said: “It was a question of choosing the right balls and playing in the areas I wanted to play. He is the best bowling player at the moment of the world cricket. So, I had to be very vigilant about where he was going to play.
With four victories and a defeat, Delhi Capitals is currently second in the points table. They will face the Royals of Rajasthan in their sixth 2025 IPL match at the Arun Jaitley stadium on Wednesday April 16.
