  1. Purple patch? More like purple haze because I cant see any centurys in this so called patch lol. Wake me up when he actualy delivers something substantial for the team.

  2. KL Rahul and scoring in the 50s – still a better love story than Twilight. But seriously when will he get that big daddy hundred? My grandkids will graduate before that happens at this rate haha.

  3. Intresting stat – in swinging conditions KL’s average is now 43.8 which is 8 points higher than his overall test average. Shows adaptibility.

  4. What a player! KL Rahul is proving all his critics wrong with these consistant performances. Four consecutive 50+ scores in England is no joke guys. This is the kind of form we needed from him at number 5.

  5. Oh wow, four 50s! Such wow, much amaze. Maybe next time he can try converting one into a century? Just a thought lol.

  6. Honestly dont understand the hype. Yes he scored 50s but did he convert any to hundreds? We need match winners not just players who get starts and throw it away. Pujara and Kohli did this better in their prime.

  7. Overrated performences if you ask me. Any decent player can score 50s in favourable batting conditions. Where was he when the pitch was dificult in the first test? Exactly. One dimensional player getting undeserved praise as usual from Indian media.

  8. But can we really call this a purple patch tho? I mean scoring 50s is good but not great. Rishabh Pant scores quicker and more impactful innings. KL takes too many balls to settle and that puts pressure on other batsman. Just my opinion but Im not fully convinced yet.

  9. People forgeting he got out in the 60s and 70s in those matches. Yes its better than failures but a top order batsman in test cricket should be converting these into big hundreds specially when team is in trouble. Just stating facts here not hating.

  10. This is exactly wat we needed from KL. Remember when everyone was calling for him to be droped? Now whose laughing. Sometimes players just need backing and confidence from team managment. Well played Rahul, keep it going!

  11. For those intrested, KL Rahul now has an average of 47.3 in England across his test career. His technique against the moving ball has improved drasticaly since 2018. The key change has been his trigger movement and leaving balls outside off stump more disiplined.
