Kyle Freeland entered a good rhythm for the Colorado rocks before landing on the injured list in mid-June.
The left-hander posted three consecutive starts of quality and dropped his ERA by more than half a grain, but his first departure after leaving the He broke this chain of good outings.
Freeland will try to get back on the right track when he will finish the colorado three game series against Houston astros on Thursday. Houston will send the left -handed Walter left to the mound.
The Astros held another ninth round rally by the Rockies to win 5-3 Wednesday. Houston captured the first two games in the series, adding to the Malheurs at Home in Colorado. The Rockies have lost the 14 series at home this season. They won only two series, lost 26 and shared none in 2025.
Freeland (1-9, 5.56 ERA) granted a total of six points deserved during its three quality departures before the stiffness of the low back makes it burst. He returned to Milwaukee on Friday and was scored for six points in eight strokes in four rounds. All the races came in its last setting, spoiling a solid start when it was released.
“I felt good. I felt healthy there,” said Freeland. “I felt like I was filling the area, doing a good job. Unfortunately, this fourth round was just revealed on me with ground balls and some base tubes, then this big circuit stroke by the end of the Brewers Center Jackson).”
Despite his record, Freeland was the subject of commercial rumors before the deadline at the end of the month. He has shown in the past, he can be a high-end launcher, especially in 2018, when he went 17-7 with an MPM of 2.85 and finished fourth in the national prize League Cy Young Award.
In his career against the Astros, Freeland has a 0-2 file with an MPM of 4.38 in two starts.
Walter (1-1, 3.34 ERA) never faced Colorado during his short career, which includes five departures since its inception on May 20. He won his first victory during his last outing when he held the Chicago Cubs at a race in six rounds on Friday evening.
The astros was another fear of injuries on Wednesday when Jake Meyers took a quick ball from Jake Bird to the sifth century. Meyers, however, stayed in the game. It was a scenario similar to the way Jeremy Pena was injured on Friday, and the stopped stop landed on the injured list with a fractured coast.
Despite the absence of Pena and Yordan Alvarez (fractured his right hand), Houston continues to win.
“I love the way our team reacts to everything that is going on,” said Astros Joe Espada manager. “This is how we ride. This is how we do it. There is no way to get around this. The teams will not be sorry for us. I expect the players to prepare to play.
“We have very good players, guys waiting to have the opportunity to play, and we will find ways to win. Coming here and singing a sad song, that will not help.”
