My golf game also sets waves… waves of disapointment for everyone watching haha. But seriously good for Lottie, atleast someone knows how to hit the ball strait!
For those who dont know, Lottie Woad is currently ranked 150th in the world and this is her breakthrough performence at a major. She’s shot 3 rounds under par which is impressiv considering the conditons at St Andrews this week. Her driving accuracy has been key – shes hitting 78% of fairways compared to the field average of 61%.
Setting a wave of momentum? Lol what’s next, she’s going to ride a tsunami of birdies? The sports journalism really outdid themselfs with this headline.
Everyone keeps saying she’s ‘setting momentum’ but what does that even mean? One good tournament doesnt make a career. Rember how many players had hot streaks and then disapeared? We need to see consistancy over a full season before crowning her the next big thing.
This is great for womens golf overall. More young talent breaking through means more competiton and better viewing. Hope she can mantain this level and not let the pressure get to her in the final round.

Wow Lottie is absolutly on fire right now!! Her performence in the Open has been nothing short of amazng. She’s defintely one to watch for the future of womens golf.
I dont get all the hype honestly. She had a couple good rounds but lets not act like shes already won the tornament or something lol.
