Orioles 2, Nationals 1

CADE POVICH AND THREE LIFTS combined on a host of five strikers and BALTIMORE defeated Washington to save the final of the three -game series.

Ryan O’Hearn and Cedric Mullins provided simple RBI for Baltimore, who had lost three games in a row. The Orioles obtained a second consecutive solid start and made it pay. Povich (1-2) granted a race on four strokes on 6 2/3 innings. He withdrew five and walked one.

Leaving Washington Mackenzie Gore (2-3) granted two points on four strokes in six rounds. He withdrew eight and walked one. Josh Bell had a simple RBI for the Nationals, who won four of the five and opened a series of four games against New York Diets at the top of the eastern division on Friday in Washington.

Angels 4, Pirates 3

Zach Neto’s circuit by leading to the eighth round took equality and raised Los Angeles to a victory over Pittsburgh in Anaheim, California.
