
Mookie Betts has not traveled with the Dodgers and will not play Friday evening when Los Angeles faces the Boston Red Sox host as he deals with a personal affair, the manager Dave Roberts told journalists on Friday.
However, Betts is expected to arrive at Boston around 7:15 p.m., the start of the match on Saturday. Roberts said he was not sure if Betts will be aligned on Saturday.
“There could be things that may not happen, that he has to face personally,” said Roberts after the 4-3 Wednesday victory over the visiting minnesota twins in which Betts started a ninth round gathering with a single in the inner field of two outings. “Everything is fine with him, but yes, we will see.”
Betts spent the first six seasons of his career in Boston and was the MVP of the American League in 2018, when he led the Red Sox to a victory of the World Series against the Dodgers.
