Rahul Dravid Slams RCB on Bengaluru Stampede Tragedy

The former skipper of India and chief coach Rahul Dravid spoke about the tragic Bengaluru Logée which left 11 dead. The Stampede broke out during the celebration of the victory of Royal Challengers Bengaluru earlier this month.

The outfit based in Bengaluru obtained its very first IPL title with a victory over the Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 final on June 3. After winning the trophy, the franchise announced a victory parade, but the police did not authorize. However, later on June 4, the franchise again announced that there would be a parade followed by celebrations in the stadium of Mr. Chinnaswamy.

What promised to be a joyful opportunity turned into a nightmare while chaos descended outside the stadium because of the stampede. He finally left 11 dead and more than 30 seriously injured.

Rahul Dravid on Bengaluru Stampede:

Rahul Dravid described the tragic incident as “very disappointing”, saying that the stampede had left him with a broken heart. The legendary drummer praised Bengaluru’s passion for the points and said that such a tragic incident should not have occurred in the city.

“Very disappointing. It’s very sad. Bengaluru is a sports city.

“Our thoughts go to everyone for having unfortunately lost their lives and those who were injured. Such a tragedy should not have happened,” he added.

Rahul Dravid, who directed RCB in the past, was also associated with IPL this year. The former cricket player was the Royals of Royals of Rajasthan. It was his first mission since he resigned from the head coach of India last year.

However, the Royals could not do well this season and failed to progress before the League scene. They barely watched to go to the playoffs while they were fighting with their shape throughout the season. In the end, the team led by Sanju Samson finished in ninth place in the table of points with only 4 victories of 14 games. They will try to bounce back next season.
