In a situation report submitted to the High Court, the management of the RCB, as well as the DNA networks of the event partner and the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), “unilaterally” organized the celebration without consulting the police or ensuring the required authorizations.

“The RCB Management, in association with its event management partner, DNA Networks Private Limited, and the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), have unilaterally decided to hold the celebration of victory without consultation with the police and without obtaining the necessary authorizations or licenses for such celebrations,” indicates the status report.

The government reveals that RCB has ignored security protocols, said Virat Kohli’s video

The government also revealed that RCB had used a promotional video showing Virat Kohli as part of their IPL victory celebrations. On June 3 around 6.30 p.m., the CEO of the KSCA informed the Cubbon Park police station on a victory parade scheduled if RCB won the final.

However, the police rejected the proposal, citing a lack of details such as the estimated size of the crowd, security measures and logistics planning. The authorities also noted that the request had been submitted to very short delay, leaving no time for adequate preparations.

“Insufficient information concerning the size of the expected collection, the measures taken, the bottlenecks possible, etc., as well as the proposal made within a very short delay,” said the report.

RCB issued an open invitation to victory without the police authorization

The report also indicated that the RCB’s social media campaign before their IPL 2025 victory parade drew massive attention. In particular, the franchise has produced several promotional articles, including a video showing Virat Kohli.

RCB published an open invitation for the parade at the beginning of June 4, a few hours before starting. A video starring Kohli was shared at 8:55 am, announcing that the team’s plans to celebrate with fans, and another article at 3:14 p.m. revealed the parade calendar and the details on the limited free pass.

At the time of this last post, large crowds had already gathered near the stadium. The report indicated that the RCB had simply informed the police but had not submitted an official request or provided the essential details required to plan the control of the crowds and ensure public security.

“It is relevant to note that a simple intimation was given by the organizers; there was no requisition for authorizations in the prescribed format, and no necessary information was provided to the departments concerned to anticipate the collection and make adequate preparations,” added the report.

  1. Actually govt has valid point here. RCB oversold tickets and didnt coordinate with police properly. Similar thing happen in other states also but at least they take precautions. This time RCB management really drop the ball.

  2. Interesting. So govt who is suppose to maintain law and order is blaming cricket team. Makes perfect sense in our country. Why take responsibility when you can blame someone famous?

  3. Everyone talking about Virat but nobody mention about proper security arrangements. The stadium capacity is fixed, police should have control entry points better. Both RCB and govt has responsibility here not just one side.

  4. Oh yes ofcourse! When everything goes wrong, blame the celebrity. Standard procedure in India. Virat should definitly be held responsible for monsoon delay and inflation also while we at it 🙄

  5. Breaking news: Karnataka govt discovers new way to avoid responsibility – Blame Virat Kohli! Next week they will probably blame him for Bangalore traffic and potholes too 😄😄

  6. This is completely unfair! How can they blame RCB and Virat for stampede?? Its govt job to manage crowd not players. They just want to shift there mistakes on celebrities. Virat bhai always help people, this is wrong treatment.

  7. Disgusting move by Karnataka govt. Virat Kohli bring crores of revenue to state and this is how they treat him? No wonder players dont want to play in Bangalore anymore. Shameful!

  8. People died in stampede and everyone here making jokes and defending RCB blindly?? Wake up guys, someone need to be accountable. If not team management then who? The victims family deserves justice not excuses.

  9. RCB should sue govt for this. What evidance they have that RCB caused stampede? Just because crowd came to see Virat dosent mean team is responsible for safety.

  10. Finaly someone speaking truth! RCB management was totally careless with ticketing. They knew lakhs of fans will come but didnt plan properly. Govt is right to take action this time.

  11. This whole thing could avoided if proper planning done. Both side has fault – RCB for poor ticket management and govt for inadequate security. They should work together for solution instead fighting in media.

  12. Hahaha typical politics! Election coming soon so need scapegoat. Yesterday they was taking selfie with Virat, today blaming him for stampede. Indian politics in nutshell my friends 😂

  13. Wow so now cricketers are responsible for law & order also? Whats next, blame them for traffic jam too? Karnataka govt never fails to amaze with their logic lol
