A knee injury prevented Kutter Crawford from making his debut in 2025 for the Boston Red Sox, but a more recent disease should keep the right -handers sidelined for the rest of the season.

Addressing journalists on Wednesday before the final of the series of his team at Los Angeles Angels, the manager of Boston, Alex Cora, said that Crawford would undergo straight wrist surgery and is “probably” for the year.

Crawford, 29, opened the season on the wounded list with a right patellar tendinopathy. He fought against a knee injury throughout the 2024 season, during which he made 33 career starts and 183 2/3 sleeves launched. The injury would have decreased with treatment during the winter before vanishing just before training in the spring.

According to Cora, Crawford injured his wrist in an off -scope incident, although the director did not provide additional details to emphasize that this was not due to irresponsible activity. Cora first mentioned the last injury of Crawford while the Red Sox was in San Francisco this weekend, noting that the launcher was flying for Boston for a wrist MRI.

In certain parts of Four Seasons with Boston (2021-24), Crawford made 18-31 in 86 games (69 departures) with an MPM of 4.56, 118 steps and 389 stick withdrawals, including a career record from 175 in 2024.
