The Reds of Cincinnati will seek to build a new sequence of victories and to capture their third consecutive series when they welcome the Seattle Mariners on Thursday afternoon in the rubber match of their three game sets.

The Reds lost 5-3 against the navy on Wednesday, ending their sequence of four consecutive victories.

The navies enter Thursday after winning five of their last six games. They also dominated the series of all time between the teams, leading Cincinnati 20-6.

The teams played a game which presented a controversial call in the eighth round while the plaque referee Chris Segal ruled the beating interference on the Austin Hays of the Reds. This led to a stick withdrawn and also destroyed a base stolen by Elly de la Cruz, which was automatically called for the second round with cincinnati in two points.

“Due to the situation of the game, you go a sort of screaming, and he gave me a good explanation,” said Reds manager Terry Francona. “I sort of appreciated that he did not have me (insult). He said:” I know it (stinking) “because Elly was easily safe, but (the recipient of the sailors Cal Raleigh) had to modify his throw because the body (Hays’) fell on the plate.

“I went to watch it. … It hurts in this part of the game, but I respect the way (Segal) manipulated it.”

Cincinnati had scored three points in seventh round and led the eighth with a simple de la Cruz.

“It was a big game, without a doubt, and it is a game that is not called very often,” said Mariners manager Dan Wilson, who caught these two teams in the 1990s, about the interference game.

“I have the impression that it should be called more, but it really seemed that he did not need to have contact. He just needed to bother the throw, and he clearly did it. A great turnaround for us.”

Raleigh went deeply on both sides of the plate during Wednesday’s victory. The two circuits gave him 100 for his career and seven for the season.

Seattle was originally going to send the right -hander Bryan Woo to the mound in the final of the series, but he was returned to the Blue Jays in Toronto’s Friday match.

Instead, the navies remember the right-hander Emerson Hancock (0-1, 81.00 ERA) of Triple-A Tacoma to make his second start of the season. Hancock was scored for six points in seven strokes while recording only two withdrawals in a defeat of 9-6 against the Tigers de Detroit on March 31.

Hancock will appear in career against Cincinnati.

Cincinnati counter-line Brady Singer (3-0, 3.18), which will make its fourth start of the season. The Reds strikers produced 30 points in his three departures, the singer winning the victory during the three outings.

Singer will make his sixth career and seventh appearance against the navy. It is 1-2 with a 3.60 MPM in these outings.
