ESPN keeps the host of “Gameday” for a long time of “College Gameday” on a contract of seven years worth “tens of millions” in dollars, athletics reported on Sunday.

Fox Sports would have made a strong thrust to hire Davis to organize his pre-match show of “Big Noon Kickoff”, the main competitor of “College Gameday” on Saturday of university football.

Davis, 59, worked as a sports presenter and journalist in a television station in Flint, Michigan, from 1993 to 1995 immediately before joining ESPN, where he had roles in a variety of roofing areas before becoming the founding host of “College Gameday” in 2005. He also organized the version of university basketball of the program.

Athletics said that he had accepted “a slight discount of the hometown” to stay with ESPN, which will guarantee it tasks for organizing university football until 2032 – the end of the network’s qualifying series agreement. According to the report, Fox’s offer included the management of the male World Cup coverage in 2026 and the call for university basketball matches.

In Fox, Rob Stone welcomes “Big Noon Kickoff” alongside a panel that includes Charles Woodson, Brady Quinn, Matt Leinart and Urban Meyer.

The colleagues of Davis in ESPN include Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit, Nick Saban, Lee Corso and Pat McAfee.
