  1. wow finaly the Reds doing something right!! Hayes is exacly what we needed at third base. his defense is elite and can hit too. this could be the missing peice for a playoff run!

  2. For those wondering about the stats: Hayes posted a .272/.314/.406 slash line last season with good defensive metrics. He’s under team control through 2029 which gives us flexibility. The Pirates are rebuilding so this makes sense for both sides. Will be intresting to see what prospects went the other way.

  3. This is a solid move IF the price was right. Hayes brings plus defense and decent pop from the left side. My concern is his injury history and whether he can stay healthy for a full season. Also whos playing short now? We better not be moving India around again because that didnt work last time we tried it.

  4. Are you kidding me?? What did we give up for this guy? The front office always overpaying for aging players. Hayes havent even hit above .270 in like 2 years and now we suppose to celebrate? This organization never learns smh

  5. Everyone acting like this is some great move but let me ask you this – when was the last time a Pirates player came over and actually performed better? There defense is good sure but we needed OFFENSE not another glove-first guy. We already got plenty of those. Make it make sense!

  6. Oh great, another ‘star’ acquisition from the Reds front office. Because that’s worked out SO well in the past. I’m sure Hayes will hit .350 with 40 homers now that he’s wearing red… just like all our other ‘game-changing’ trades lol

  7. Does this mean we’re finally gonna have someone who can actualy catch a ground ball at third?? 😂 Been watching guys boot routine plays for 3 years now. Hayes could literally show up in a wheelchair and still be an upgrade over what we had hahaha. No offense to anyone but its true
