The series of three games between the White Sox of Chicago and the Colorado Rockies in Denver this weekend will draw attention, but not because the two teams are in the race in the playoffs.
Instead, with the deadline for trade in the major leagues which are looming on July 31, the rivals will undoubtedly have their eyes on the players they might want to acquire from two teams which can only be considered sellers.
Rockies and White Sox have the worst baseball records.
Upon entering the opening of the series on Friday evening, the Colorado has only 20 victories and is underway to have the least victories of a season in the modern era – a record established by the White Sox 41-121 in 2024.
The rocks are in rhythm for only 37 victories. They have not yet won a home series this season, and the holiday weekend offers the best chance for their first serial victory.
A pair of right -handers will get into the opening of the series. The White Sox will send Adrian Houser (3-2, 1.90 ERA) to the mound against Antonio Senzatela (3-11, 6.69).
The rocks avoided a scan on Thursday by obtaining 13 shots and holding a 7-6 victory against the Astros of Houston.
One of the leaders from Colorado to the Plate is Jordan Beck, who had a career summit of five strokes during the defeat of 6-5 on Tuesday against Houston and two others on Thursday. Beck has sometimes tripped but is not discouraged.
“It’s our work,” said Beck. “Like anything else, we’re going to spoil things and we have to go. If we don’t learn, it’s bad on our part.”
It strikes. 273 with 10 circuits. During his first full season in the majors, Beck did not play against the White Sox. But Senzatela did it. He made two appearances (a departure) but has no decision. He has an MPM of 4.75 in 7 2/3 rounds against Chicago.
The White Sox, who only had 28 victories this season, appear in their second city of a six -game road trip that started in Los Angeles, where Great Clayton Kershaw from Dodgers obtained his 3000th career with career against Chicago on Wednesday. The White Sox abandoned the three games against the Dodgers after winning three of their four previous competitions.
Houser is expected to start his eighth game since the White Sox signed it for a one -year contract of $ 1.35 million on May 20.
During his last outing, he launched seven laundry rounds during a 1-0 victory against the Giants of San Francisco on Saturday. He has six quality starts out of seven.
Its success increased the chatter concerning its availability before the deadline for trade, but Houser, in its ninth season of the major league, said it was satisfied with the White Sox.
“I was comfortable. It was good. The group, everyone here was great,” said Houser. “The guys are great, the atmosphere was good here.
“I try to continue to do what I have been doing since the start of the season, to do my job and to attack it in this way. It was fun to play baseball.”
The director of the White Sox Will Venables experienced an improvement in Houser.
“His business has checked this year,” said Venable. “He has just lived this experience and this ability to navigate a program. The match plan works extremely well, and (it puts) very well with our catchors.”
Houser faced the rocky six times – five departures – and is 1-0 with a 5.67 MPM in his career against them.
