Mumbai Indians Captain Hardya, Pandya won the draw and chose to play the first against Sunrisers Hyderabad in match 33 of the Premier Indian League (IPL) 2025 at the Wankhede stadium on Thursday. The two games enter the match with victories in their respective matches and decided to move forward with the same XIS by playing that their previous matches. The Mumbai Indians decided to go with former Captain Rohit Sharma among impact substitutes. Hhelik Pandya said the decision was due to the possibility that dew playing a role later in the match.
“Very excited, the way the last two days have gone,” he said, adding that they support all their strikers. “Bumrah is fine, we don’t have to worry about him. If he was not 100%, he would not be there.”
Sunrisers captain Hyderabad, Pat Cummins, said that he looked like a good counter and was not too worried about losing the draw. Same side for SRH too. “Sometimes it’s good to reset, sometimes it’s good to continue,” he said about the five-day gap between their games.
The match is played on the same field on which the Mumbai Indians packed Kolkata Knight Riders for 116, then chased the target with 43 balls to lose. It was the only home victory of the Mumbai Indians this season, and their fans hope that the return to the same band is working again for them.
The two teams desperately want to win this match because they have both lost four games each, and lose more games will seriously hinder their chances of recovering and fighting for a place in playoffs.
