Captain Shreyas Iyer, Captain Shreyas Iyer, left the field during the Indian Premier League match (IPL) against the Royall Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The incident occurred during the seventh compared to the pursuit of RCB at 158 points in Mullanpur. In the absence of Shreyas, Marcus Stoinis took care of the interim captain. So why did Shreyas leave the field and that too when his team defends a total total? According to an Espncricinfo report, Shreyas left the field when he did not feel well.
“Shreyas does not feel well and is on the ground. Stoinis is the acting captain,” said the report.
It is unlikely that Shreyas will take over for this game.
Earlier, RCB spinners played a central role in the restriction of the kings of Punjab (PBKS) at 157/6.
After winning the draw, the RCB skipper, Rajat Patidar, chose to play first, a decision that turned out to be effective, thanks to the disciplined spells of his Spin duo, Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma. While Pandya finished with 2/25 figures, Suyash was just as impressive, obtaining 2/26 in his four Overs.
PBKS took a flying start, with the Openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh launching a QuickFire 42 -point partnership. However, Krunal Pandya broke the momentum by rejecting Arya for 22. Punjab spoke of their fifty in just 5.1 overs and reached 62/1 at the end of the power game, but the flow of races quickly dried after Pandya struck just after the power game, removing the dangerous Prabhsimran Singh for 33.
The average order was struggling to take momentum, with Captain Shreyas Iyer falling in love with a slow 6 balls of 10 balls in Romario Shepherd, who played his first match of the season. A mixture between Nehal Wadhera and Josh Inglis led to an outing, returning Wadhera for only 5.
Inglis, however, has shown a certain resistance with a 29 accessions accessible at hand before being upset by the Suyash Sharma cunning. The leg spinner quickly added another to his count by cleaning Marcus Stoinis for only 1, leaving the punjab in shock at 114/6 in 13.5 overs.
He was then left to the South African versatile Marco Jansen and Shashank Singh to stabilize the ship. The duo sewn an undefeated 41 -point stand together for the seventh window, guiding the PBKS to a respectable total. Shashank remained unbeaten on 31 out of 33 bullets, while Jansen contributed to 25 deliveries of 25 of 20.
