This would of been such a classy move tho! Can you imagine the headlines? “Stokes Champions Spirit of Cricket with Bold Stream Change” or something like that. It would of set a grate example for young cricketers coming up thru the ranks. Sometimes its the small gestures that makes the biggest impact on the sports culture.
Oh yes because changing the stream for 15 letters would have totally revolutionized cricket as we no it 🙄 Im sure the entire cricket world was waiting for this momentus announcement that would of changed everything forever.
Absolutely agree with this! Stokes has always been bout the spirit of the game and this would of been a perfect moment to show it. The game needs more gestures like this tbh, specially in todays era where everything is so comercial.
But here’s the thing – where do we draw the line? If Stokes does this then every captain will be expected to do similiar gestures everytime. Your basically asking players to go beyond the rules which sets a dangrous precedent. What about when it costs them a match? Will fans still appreciate the spirit then?
Imagine if Stokes actually changed the stream and it autocorrected to something weird lmao. “Spirit of Criket” or “Sprite of Cricket” 😂 The memes would of been legendary! Social media would have exploded more than the actual gesture itself haha.
For those who dont know the context – this is refering to the incident where Stokes could have made a symbolic gesture regarding the spirit of cricket. The 15 letters part is probly about changing something in the official records or communication. Its worth noting that Spirit of Cricket clause is actually part of the MCC laws now since 2017.
What nonsense lol. Why should he changed anything?? He played by the rules and thats all that matters. Stop expecting players to be saints all the time, its a competitive sport not a charity match.
Not sure what the big deal is honestly. Players make decisions in the moment and we judge them from our couches. Easy to say what someone should of done when your not out there under pressure.

Right, because what cricket really needs is more meaningless gestures. Maybe he should of also written a apology letter, done a press conference, and possibly sacrifised a goat to the cricket gods while hes at it?
I think the whole Spirit of Cricket thing is bit overrated nowdays. Like yea its importent but people take it to far sometimes. Every small thing becomes a massive controversy on twitter and everyone has a opinion about what players should or shouldnt do.
