Sunrisers Hyderabad Mid-Season Review: What didn’t work with Hauts-Scintiales?

Sunrisers Hyderabad are currently in 9th place on the point table with only 2 7 -game wins. When they broke a 286 record in their first match of the season against the Royals of Rajasthan, it seemed that last year’s finalists were back with their intrepid striker approach. Everyone assumed that SRH would dominate again. But forward quickly in halfway, and it was quite the opposite – SRH found itself too often at the reception. So what’s wrong?

In the bowling unit, Harshal Patel was their most effective artist with 9 counters in 6 games at an average of 21.66 – even if his economy of 9.75 was slightly on the highest side, his talent for breakthroughs was useful.

The total of 232 points by Abhishek Sharma is strongly stimulated by a single stroke of 141 against the kings of Punjab. Apart from that, there was a lack of consistency. Ishan Kishan, who started the season with a century against RR, fell radically. The rest of the order of striker was uneven, the average order not providing stability or acceleration if necessary.

The Bowling department did not behave better. Even when they displayed massive totals – like 286 against RR – they conceded 242 in return. Against Punjab, they disclosed 245 before succeeding in continuing it. It highlights their inability to defend the big scores. Big names like Pat Cummins and Mohammad Shami looks far from their best, and the Spin department has had no impact. The attack lacked sharpness, control and variation.
