Oklahoma City – Kayden Henry broke equality with a fifth round home run and Joley Mitchell exploded another in the sixth to help raised Texas to a 4-2 victory against the quadruple reigning champion Oklahoma in the Women’s College World Series on Saturday.

The Longhorns will play in the semi-finals on Monday, needing a victory in two trials to go to the WCWS championship series for the third time in four seasons. The Sooners will play Oregon on Sunday in an elimination match.

Texas had never beaten the Sooners in the WCWS and had not beaten Oklahoma in the state of Oklahoma since 2014.

With a withdrawal in the fifth, Henry jumped on the first Sam Landry throw for a linear Run Home to put the Longhorns 3-2.

Mitchell then led the sixth with his third home run from WCWS to extend the advance.

But it was not over.

Teagan Kavan struck Ella Parker, then authorized a single to Nelly McEnroe-Marinas with an outing to get the race on a discovery fire.

But the AS of Longhorns struck Gabbie Garcia and Hannah Cor to escape the jam and move the Texas in the three victories of their very first WCWS title.
