Chris Dehring, CEO of Cricket West Indies (CWI), congratulated the Grenade government for its current upgrades at the National Granada Cricket Stadium, which is preparing to welcome the Antilles against Australia from July 3 to 7, 2025.
The highly anticipated test match marks the return of international cricket in the Tri-Île nation.
With the president of CWI and the director of cricket Miles Bascombe, Dr. Kishore Shallow, also made a tour. They were guided by the Honorable Delma Thomas, Minister of Sport, who provided information on improvements.
Commenting on current upgrades, Dehring noted: “The investment of the Governade government in this place is commendable on several levels.”
“Quality infrastructure is essential not only to maintain high playing standards, but also to improve the overall experience of fans.
“Given this, I am very satisfied with the current rehabilitation efforts. The work done is high, and I am satisfied with the state of the establishment at this stage.
“Once the lights in place, this installation could become a key place for day / night test cricket in the future, adding a new dimension to international games in Grenada,” he said.
With these improvements, Granada is strengthening its position as a main cricket destination in the region, ready to host international cricket at the highest level.
