The sudden disappearance of Nikeke Srinivas Dalal, the first blind Ironman of India and an inspiration for millions of people, is a great shock for the whole nation. On the morning of July 1, his body was found in the parking lot of a hotel in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The investigation revealed that he had fallen from the second floor of the hotel. The accident was so serious that he died instantly.
How did the accident occur?
What happened to Niket is very unhappy. During the night of June 30, his house suddenly caught fire. Because his friends took him out of the house around 2:30 p.m. at night and kept him in a hotel while keeping his safety in mind. No one had any idea that it would turn out to be his last night. Around 8 am, the hotel staff found the body of Niket in the parking lot. So far, it is considered an accident. Who was Niket Dalal?
Nikeke Dalal did what many people cannot do even with their eyes. In 2020, he finished the Ironman 70.3 triathlon. It includes a swimming of 1.9 km, a 90 km cycling race and a 21.1 km race. He became not only the first blind athlete in India, but also the fifth in the world to achieve this feat.
Niket lost his sight in 2015 when a disease called glaucoma made him completely blind, but he did not give up. He was a speech therapist by profession and had a great interest in sport. He also won three medals in swimming competitions at the national level.
