The first -year offensive line of Cincinnati, Jeremiah Kelly, went unexpectedly to his home early Tuesday morning.

No cause of death was published in separate announcements of the Big 12 conference and the University of Cincinnati confirming the death of Kelly. He was a first registered that trained in the center during spring training sessions. Last season, he helped Avon (Ohio) win the state championship of division II.

“The Football Bearcats family is broken by the sudden loss of this exceptional young man,” said head coach Scott Satterfield in a statement. “In a short time, Jeremiah spent with our team, he had a real impact, both on the field and in our locker rooms. My prayers are with the Kelly family and those who had the pleasure of knowing Jérémie.”

Kelly and the Avon Eagles were undefeated and won the first state championship of the program last season. He was elected all the conferences and all the districts in addition to being elected the first offensive line player of the Southwest Conference. The 6-3 and 320 pound line player also played a defensive line in Avon but worked on the offensive line of the bearcates.

“We have suffered a heartbreaking loss today,” Cincinnati Ad John Cunningham said in a statement. “We all to UC send our love and our prayers to the Kelly family and we will do everything we can to support them and our students with bearcates in the difficult days and the weeks to come.”
