“The government will plan to move the cricket stadium to another place. Such an unpleasant incident should not occur under a government. Personally, this incident injured me and the government,” Siddaramaiah told journalists.
“Five police officers were suspended in this case. The Head of Intelligence and the Political Secretary of the Chief were replaced. The case was taken seriously and appropriate measures were taken,” he added.
The chief minister admitted that the government had not acted irresponsible about the decrease in Bengaluru. He insisted that legal actions were taken against persons responsible for the tragic incident.
“The government has done nothing wrong. This incident is sad, but no misstep was taken by the administration. A legal action was taken against guilty people, so there is no question of embarrassment for the government,” said Siddaramaiah.
Siddaramaiah said he had read the tragic Stampede outside the stadium at 5:45 p.m. on June 4. He also did not attend the event at the stadium, which began around 6:10 p.m., but attended by deputy minister -chief DK Shivakumar.
Recently, Siddaramaiah announced that the remuneration of the families of the deceased will be raised from 10 INR to 25 INR. He stressed that the government is held with families affected during this difficult period.
