New Delhi: The southern South Africa stimulator, Kagiso Rabada, revealed on Saturday that it was currently under provisional suspension after having tested a recreational medication positive. Rabada had left the Indian Premier League last month, the Titans of Gujarat announcing that his departure was due to “an important personal affair”. At the time, Rabada quoted personal reasons to return home.
“This was due to my return from an unfavorable analytical conclusion for the use of a recreational drug,” said Rabada in a press release.
“To move forward, this moment will not define me,” he added. “I will continue to do what I have always done, working continuously hard and playing with passion and dedication to my job.”
South Africa Cricket (CSA) also published a declaration confirming development.
“Cricket South Africa (CSA) may confirm that the rapid launcher of the right arm of men Kagiso Rabada has made an unfavorable analytical conclusion for the use of a prohibited substance.
“CSA is fully engaged in drug -free sport and reminds cricket players, both professional and amateur, of the importance of joining all regulations. We are firmly in our support for all players in this regard,” added the press release.
Rabada was a key figure for South Africa, with 327 test windows at an average of 22, as well as 168 ODI patents and 71 T20i.
