Finally someone speaking the truth! Sundar is absolutely right about the favoritism in selection. Some players get chance after chance even when they fail, while others like him barely get a look in. BCCI need to be more fair with their selections and give everyone equal oppurtunities.
He’s not wrong tho. Look at how many chances Iyer got before he finally performed. Same with few others. Meanwhile players like Sundar, Axar even get dropped after 1-2 bad games. There is definately some bias weather we like it or not.
The real question is what does ‘regular chances’ even mean in context? Is it about number of consecutive matches, or gaps between selections, or something else entirely. Without proper definition this whole conversation becomes meaningless. BCCI needs transparent selection policy with clear criterias so players know exactly what expected from them instead of this vague system we have now.
But why should others get ‘regular chances’ automatically? Sundar himself admitted they have regular chances – isn’t that the problem? Selection should be merit based period. If someone fails 5-6 times they should be dropped regardless of who they are. The fact that he has to even say this to selection committee shows something is wrong with the system dont you think?
What nonsense is this?? If Sundar was good enough he would be playing simple as that. Stop making excuses and perform when you get the chance instead of complaining to media. This kind of attitude will never help his carrier.
Wow such bravery to tell the selection committee they’re biased. Next he’ll probably discover that water is wet. Maybe instead of stating the obvious he should focus on his fitness and actually be available when chances come?? Just a thought lol
Looking at the numbers, Sundar has played 31 ODIs with average of 25 with bat and 43 with ball. Meanwhile the regulars like Jadeja has proven themselves over 200+ matches. The selection is based on consistency and performance metrics not just giving chances randomly. Also important to note Sundar has been injury prone which effects availability for tours.
Oh yes, I’m sure Ajit Agarkar was deeply moved by this plea and immediately changed the entire selection policy. Because that’s exactly how professional sports work – you just complain and everything gets fixed. Brilliant strategy Sundar!
Plot twist: Agarkar thought Sundar was talking about tennis and promised him regular chances at Wimbledon 😂😂 On serious note tho, imagine being in that meeting room and having to explain basic fairness to selectors. Must have been awkward af

Another player blaming the system instead of looking at himself. When will these guys learn??
