What forced BCCI to do the revised IPL 2025 calendar?

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was suspended on May 9 for a week, and in the official announcement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that the details of the new place and the new dates would soon be published.

This happened one day after the 58th match of the first Indian League 2025 between the Kings of Punjab (PBKS) and the Capitals of Delhi (DC) was canceled on Thursday, May 8, at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association stadium in Dharamsala after only 10.1 Overs.

The match was canceled because Pakistan launched a loose attack on several Indian cities, including Pathankot, just 90 km from the Dharamsala stadium. A power failure was applied in the city, and the players, as well as in the crowd, were evacuated from the stadium.

In particular, the cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan occurred after Pakistani terrorists attacked tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu-et-Cachemire, killing 26 innocent, and India launched Operation Sindoor to take revenge on life by destroying nine terrorist camps of Pakistan and Pakistan Kashmir.

Will foreign players come back for IPL 2025?

The revised 2025 IPL calendar has been announced, the largest concern is currently concerning the return of players abroad, who have already left India.

After the announcement of the suspension, most foreign players decided to return to their country of origin, while some players decided to extend their stay in India.

The star players of the Australian national cricket team like Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood will not return for the Indian Premier League 2025. And the other Australian cricket player will not be in a hurry to participate in the rest of the competition, as the Australia Cricket proposed to defend them if they choose not to go to India.

In particular, the BCCI is powerless in this situation because they cannot take any measure on the players who jump IPL 2025 because the contractual clause of force majeure excuses individuals / parts of carrying out their contracts in the event of an extraordinary event which is out of their control.
